About Wellwood

Wellwood International is an elementary school located in the northwestern part of Baltimore County. Our school offers a rich and diverse educational experience for children in grades K-5. We are focused on student achievement. Wellwood international is a Community School.

Our Mission

At Wellwood International, our mission is to help students grow into knowledgeable, kind, and confident learners. We provide a challenging and supportive education in a multicultural setting, where every child learns to respect and value differences. We want our students to feel safe, cared for, and inspired to do their best every day.

Our Vision

Empowering young minds to make a difference.

At Wellwood, we start with one guiding question: What is best for students? Every decision we make is for the benefit of all children. We strive to create a school culture that is joyful, inclusive, and supportive, where students are encouraged to think deeply, work hard, and treat others with kindness. Our goal is for every student to leave Wellwood ready to succeed and to make a positive impact in their world.

Cell Phone & Personal Technology Policy

To help students stay focused and engaged, phones and personal devices, including Smartwatches, AirPods, and similar devices, may not be used during the school day. This includes the bus, lunch, recess, specials, and bathrooms.

All devices must be turned off and stored in bookbags or lockers. Please note that students bring personal technology at their own risk; the school cannot be responsible for loss, theft, or damage.

We ask that parents not call or text students during the day. If you need to reach your child, please call the main office and we will deliver the message.

If a student uses a device during the day, teachers will give a warning first. Continued use will result in the device being collected and turned in to an administrator. Repeated violations may lead to school consequences, including detention, in-school suspension, or out-of-school suspension.

If you have any questions about this policy, please contact Mrs. Thompson, Principal.
