General PTA Information

The Wellwood International Parent Teacher Association (PTA) works to promote the welfare of children in our school and community. We work together with the principal, superintendent, school board and other community leaders to make sure your concerns are heard and student needs are met.

Our objectives are:

  • to establish a structure that will provide academic enrichment opportunities for Wellwood International School students
  • to impact student achievement and the learning environment through effective volunteer and partner programs
  • to effectively communicate with parents about PTA and school activities
  • to demonstrate our appreciation to our teachers, staff, and volunteers for all of their hard work and dedication to our children
  • to provide a warm, safe, and inviting atmosphere for all Wellwood International School students, staff and families

Being a member of the Wellwood International PTA allows you to be a part of the National PTA, which is one of the largest child advocacy organizations.

 

The PTA’s involvement makes possible additional learning activities for students, family fun events and resources that otherwise would go unprovided. We are 100% volunteer -- why not come to a meeting, become a member or offer some of your time to help make our programs successful? 

 

Don't forget to collect boxtops from your favorite products and send them into school.  Wellwood earns 10 cents for each boxtop.

 Turn your paper recycling into paper money for school!  Simply deposit your paper in the bin outside Wellwood.

 Show your Wellwood pride with Wellwood SpiritWear!  Long sleeve or short sleeve t-shirts, sweatshirts and totes are all available with the Wellwood logo.  You can order shirts or buy them at any PTA event.

Come to a meeting!

The PTA meets on the first Thursday of the month in the school library.  Everyone is welcome at PTA meetings.  Check the What’s New at Wellwood? page for the dates and times of upcoming meetings.

 

Become a member!

The Wellwood PTA invites you to join us in improving the educational experiences of our children.  With your membership dues you will help strengthen Wellwood’s voice on the local, state and national level.  What will your dues do?  Membership dues help the Wellwood PTA sponsor family fun events, educational assemblies, the school directory, and much more!  Email membership information for more details or fill in the membership enrollment form and send it into school, attention to the PTA.

 

Offer some of your time!

Every day parents contribute to their children’s educations by feeding them a healthy breakfast, getting them to school on time, checking their homework, asking about their day and countless other acts.  Another important way to add to your child's education is to volunteer your time- at home or in the school- to the many worthwhile programs the PTA helps to make available.  Whether you can contribute one hour a month, help on one event, or take on the chairmanship of a committee, your involvement shows your child you think schooling is important and worth the extra effort.  Read about the volunteer opportunities to see what meets your interests and time.
