Green School

Wellwood International is a Maryland Certified Green School. We are working to make a change in the environment and bring awareness to others on the importance of going green. Each grade level participates in a green school project each year. All students at Wellwood International participate in school-wide recycling efforts in the classroom and cafeteria.

On April 20th, many fourth and fifth grade students joined Blue Water Baltimore and planted 24 trees on Wellwood’s campus. Additional plantings will take place in the fall and families will be invited to join in the fun! More information will be shared early September.

On April 21st during Wellwood’s Earth Day Celebration, Department of the Environment’s Secretary Grumbles joined students for a groundbreaking ceremony. In just a few short weeks, Wellwood students will be able to enjoy an outdoor classroom!

While helping with the groundbreaking ceremony, Secretary Grumbles presented Wellwood International with an “Earth Month” proclamation signed by Governor Hogan.
